RED BULL BC ONE IN BARCELONA
B-BOYS BATTLE AT THE MONTJUIC AMPHITHEATRE
The Red Bull BC One competition will land at the Montjuic amphitheatre in Barcelona on July the 3rd to display one of the biggest B-Boy shows at an international level. We are proud to say that B-Boy Armstrong will be representing Ireland at the event.
Just under 1000 spectators gathered at the Ulster Hall in Belfast last May to see Dublin based Armstrong lift the Red Bull BC One Cypher Ireland title after sweating his way through the 'one on one’ heats against 15 other B-Boys and B-Girls from all over Ireland. It was a cracking show that highlighted the quality and depth of the Irish scene.
Armstrong is getting prepped to represent Ireland at this Red Bull BC One Qualifier and if he achieves a repeat victory, will go on to battle it out for the World title, later this year.
B-Boying is one of the most popular forms of urban culture and Barcelona is one of the 5 world sites that will host the qualifying rounds preceding the Red Bull BC One Final 2011 that will take place in Russia on November the 26th, 2011. The Red Bull BC One Qualifier in Barcelona guarantees a one-of-a-kind show where 16 of the best international B-Boys will compete for a place in the world finals. Saying the impressive outdoor site of the old Montjuic amphitheater will provide a unique atmosphere is an understatement.
The Red Bull BC One of Barcelona is one of the official acts of the Festival Grec of Barcelona (the city’s main festival of arts) that will run from June 17 until July 31st, 2011.
We are all looking forward to see Armstrong tackle the competition and we hope that he will do his belt proud and take on the cream of European talent.
