Gaelic footballer Bernard Brogan capped another wonderful performance in this year's National League with the crucial score in Dublin's win over rivals Down as the game ended Dublin 2–10 Down 0–13 at Croke Park.

The result qualified the vastly improved 'Dubs' for their first Allianz NFL Division 1 final since 1999.

The League is the early season precursor to the more prestigious All-Ireland Football Championship, Gaelic Football's premier competition.

The win was made all the more poignant as Bernard's grandfather had passed away the night before the game.

With Dublin only needing a draw to reach the final, Bernard displayed all the speed and skill associated with his game to level matters in the final minute, and then set up brother Alan Brogan to score the winning goal with only seconds remaining.
