Red Bull Flugtag

Welcome to Red Bull Flugtag Dublin 2011!

The Flugtag team are delighted to be back in Ireland and even happier to announce that we have the honour of hosting the HUNDREDTH Flugtag ever!

That's right, Flugtag is now 100 events old, and Dublin is the venue from which we're going to celebrate that incredible landmark.

From the first ever Flugtag in Austria back in 1991, this amazing event has grown and grown and grown. It has now been held in 40 cities all over the world and a million people have watched some of the most ingenious, inventive, creative - and downright crazy attempts at unassisted flight.

This year on May 22 at Dun Laoghaire Harbour we will take great pride in putting a fantastic Irish twist on this very special event.

So, we're hoping for plenty of the outrageous and innovative machines for which the Red Bull Flugtag has become famous - and who knows, maybe we'll get a world record to round off what we hope will be the perfect event!

Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you all, competitors and spectators alike, on May 22.

Don't forget to check out our Red Bull Flugtag Dublin 2011 Facebook page and share it with your friends.
With one easy click you can let us know if you'll be there on the big day and you can also use it to share pictures and comments.

Happy flying!

Your Flugtag Team.

What is Flugtag?

News text - Red Bull Flugtag

Red Bull Flugtag challenges teams of everyday people to build homemade, human-powered flying machines and pilot them off a 30-foot high deck in hopes of achieving flight! Flugtag may mean "flying day" in German, but all these crafts ultimately splash into the waters below. They are judged not only on their flight's distance, but creativity and showmanship as well.
