Australian Mick Fanning celebrated becoming 2009 ASP World Champion last weekend after nearest rival and compatriot Joel Parkinson was beaten by wildcard Gavin Gillette at the Billabong Pipe Masters in Hawaii, meaning that the title, which he last won in 2007, was his once again.
